We have lost one of our university's emeritus professors, the esteemed academic Prof. Dr. Sabri Sayarı.
Prof. Dr. Sabri Sayarı received his undergraduate and doctoral degrees in Economics and Political Science from Columbia University in the USA, and then worked as a faculty member in the Department of Political Science at Rutgers University from 1971 to 73. Between 1974 and 1984, he was a faculty member in the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Boğaziçi University. From 1994 to 2005, he worked as a faculty member in the Faculty of International Relations at Georgetown University and served as the director of the Institute of Turkish Studies (ITS) at the same university. He lectured as a visiting professor at Columbia, George Washington, and California (Irvine) Universities in the USA, and at Aarhus University in Denmark. Sabri Sayarı has numerous publications on various topics within the fields of Turkish Politics, Turkish Foreign Policy, and Comparative Politics.

His memory will live on forever through his life dedicated to science, his valuable work, and the students he raised.
